The presence of the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock enriches our community. It does so by inspiring creativity and bring people together. For the past four years, Stellar Media has had the privilege of producing videos for LHUCA’s annual gala. This includes videos to celebrate those receiving the William D Kerns Performing & Visual Arts Award.
The Lubbock community knows Toni Arnett as a nationally acclaimed local artist. She is instrumental proponent of the arts here. Her paintings have hung in galleries worldwide. But, Miss Arnett prefers the title of hometown artist. Her talent, combined with her dedication to local arts, are why she is this year’s recipient of the award.
One of the things we love most is getting to have a conversations with new and interesting people. Jay and Pam Brown were no exception! As the 2017 honorees of the William D Kerns Award, they encourage the entire Lubbock area to participate. This could be through local theater acting, set or costume production, or even as audience members. The Browns have poured into community theater in Lubbock since 1998. And their involvement continues to help the performing arts scene flourish.
